How to make earth green again
Policies to Make the
Globe Green
Environmental change
Accidental deaths are increasing day
by day. Many old people are seen saying that their era was a golden one,
accidental deaths were the least. Why it was so? Why the accidental deaths were
the least in old times? This question gives a clue that probably one of the
causes of accidental deaths is environmental change.
Now the question arises that how
environmental changes could be the cause of accidental deaths? Well! Nowadays
whenever you switch on Television many news is revolving around deaths due to
heatstroke, the destruction caused by floods in different areas, increasing
cancer patients, scarcity, and extinction of various species of organisms. This
is due to environmental change.
Environmental change refers to any
disturbance in the existing environment of an area due to human misdeeds or
natural disasters. Global warming due to the greenhouse effect is the leading
defect of environmental change.
Policies implemented
across the globe for the green revolution
We are facing climate change. It is
here and has irreversibly affected our globe. Most of the damage is already
done and the developed countries are in search of how to successfully combat
the damage. In their research, they found that enforcing environmentally
friendly policies are the need of the day. Scientists emphasize that these
policies should be recognized at both government and citizen level due to the
severity of climate change, along with the adequate resources. Developed countries
have the resources to implement these policies for green change but
unfortunately, many developing countries lack economic resources to implement
these changes.
Many countries have implemented many
policies which roads toward a greener future. Among these countries include
Thailand, Maharashtra (India), Kazakhstan, Turkey, Madagascar, Pakistan, and
many more.
All over the world, rapid urbanization and construction industries are prominent ecological concerns. Because it is leading to a lifestyle without greenery and natural matters. The way cities, industries, and houses are constructed all over the world, needs a revision to line up with a climate compromised reality.
Recently Thailand participated in
NAMA, which is cherished and worthy to appreciate act for combating the climate
change problem. NAMA (Nationally Appropriated Mitigated Acts) is a project in
collaboration with the United Nations which aims that a country implements a
set of policies and take actions to reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses.
The buildings under project used such green materials and designs which
prioritize energy efficiency and preservation.
Transfer from rural to urbanization has a vast range of other environmental impacts as well. Deforestation is one of them. Forests are destroyed to carry on new constructions and industrialization. The policy of planting 10 billion trees manually implemented by the government of Pakistan isn't working up to destiny due to a lack of awareness in people. In fact, as a developing country, the government should educate people through the department of extension and make them aware of the harsh reality we are facing due to the lack of greenery.
In contrast, many countries are using the Drone technology to aid reforestation which is the acceptable method because it allows aerial dispersion of seeds at a rate with can't be accomplished with a manual method and in less time. The Drones also monitor the progress in seedlings which is time-consuming when done manually.
Another factor contributing the climate change is the daily harmful emissions of fuels either from homes and industries. It is the main cause of air pollution and leading to the greenhouse effect. India has taken incredible steps in educating people about these harms, especially the Maharashtra government has created a unique program to provide the facts to their citizens about the most pollutant industries in their state. The program naming The Star Rating Program has provided information to the citizen about pollution a relevant industry causes according to the government rating system. This leads to the activism of the citizens regarding environmental cleanliness.
One of the policies leading to the green globe is to switch to renewable sources of energy that don't lead to pollution at any cost. Furthermore, they are also not at the risk of depletion. In this regard, Turkey is the country that has taken exemplary steps in utilizing renewable sources for energy generation. According to a survey they produce 90% of energy through renewable sources. The main role is performed by the wind. Also, the government encourages those who use renewable sources for energy generation.
Nowadays sunlight is utilized for
energy generation, and in the future, it is hoping that it will be the leading
source for energy generation. The first solar plant was build in sant’llario,
Italy in 1968 by professor Giovanni Francia. In Kazakhstan, the revolution
regarding solar energy is emerging. The border of Kazakhstan with Kirghizstan
compromise of sunny areas. Burnye solar plant was built there in 2015.
Interestingly Kazakhstan has one of the largest coal reserves in Central Asia.
Despite utilizing and transforming to renewable sources for energy generation
is monumental and guidance for the whole Globe.
All these policies and steps are
providing hope for developing countries. Modern technology has made the change
easy for the solution of the problems. The need of the day is awareness and
taking steps to utilize this technology. There is still potential for
improvement. Although developing countries lack the economical vigor of
utilizing modern techniques, the developed countries must have to put their
hands with them for the sake of the Greenery of the Globe.
